What is Headway Monitoring?
Headway is the time gap to the vehicle ahead. Headway monitoring warns the driver when that gap is too short to react safely.
Rule of thumb
Heavy vehicles need a longer gap than cars. Fleets set a minimum headway and coach drivers who repeatedly follow too closely.
