What is ADAS?

ADAS stands for Advanced Driver Assistance System. In fleets it usually means a forward-facing AI camera that warns the driver about risks on the road ahead.

Common ADAS warnings

• Forward collision warning (FCW)
• Headway monitoring
• Lane departure warning (LDW)
• Pedestrian collision warning
• Overspeed

Aftermarket ADAS

Older buses and trucks can get ADAS through an AI dashcam fitted to the windshield. These systems warn the driver; they do not brake or steer.
